The Hevron Matza Bakery was established a number of years ago by students of the Shavei-Hevron Yeshiva. Their aim was to produce high quality, hand made Shmura Matza according to our age-old tradition; while at the same time providing employment for the inhabitants of the holy city of Hevron.

The bakery was established under the strict supervision of Rav Dov Lior, Chief Rabbi of Hevron, whose instructions are meticulously followed from start to finish. The bakery has also received the blessings and guidance of Israel's former Chief Rabbi, Rav Mordechai Eliyahu. With God's help, we have baked thousands of delicious Shmura Matzos.

Two years ago, Arabs broke into the bakery, looting and ruining equipment and stocks worth hundreds of thousands of Dollars. Not only did this bring a halt to our operations, but it caused much heartbreak to all those involved in this important endeavor.

Our Sages say that just as in the month of Nissan we were redeemed from Egypt thousands of years ago, so too will the future redemption occur in the month of Nissan. With this in mind, and upon Rav Lior's recommendation, it was decided to resume this important undertaking.  The bakery was re-opened, relying gracious external support until it re-establishes self-sufficiency.

All the Matzot are baked in the "Matzot Hebron" bakery. They are hand made and the flour is carefully supervised from the moment of harvest.

The water which is added to the flour is pure water which is carefully filtered and cleaned beforehand. After adding the water, we wait 18 Min until the matzot are put in the oven.

During the whole baking process there are two Mashgichim present who were approved by the Rabbonim of Shalita.

All the matzot are baked by religious young men fulfilling the mitzvah of the baking of shmura matzot.

Hafrashat Chala is made according to the Jewish law.
